Let's call it Western Jazz. Inspired by Joni Mitchell's jazz/folk period with a western style lyric. About a couple who leaves the comfort of their home to travel across the desert in New Mexico on horseback, suffering the hardships of their journey and finally making it home again to discover how much their love for each other has grown.
Around For The Fall
In the style of a classic vocal jazz ballad, with a beautiful string and vocal arrangement, Around For The Fall is a song about a lover who refuses to take the fall of their lover in the Autumn/Fall season. This is a "picture-video' with beautiful landscapes of the Fall season.
Pink & Power Blue
An uptempo, vocal, jazz/waltz composition about a relationship that’s on the rocks. With big-band horns and jazzy vocals this track is driven by an awesome drum & bass track reminiscent of the bebop era. Hope you enjoy. The title acually came from shopping for bathroom tile and my wife liked the tile that was, “Pink & Powder Blue. My light went on!

Up tempo vocal jazz/rock tune in 7/8 time. A positive and up lifting song about everyday life with word play that perks the ear.

A medium tempo BlueEyedSoul/Jazz tune that talks about hope, youth, and a plead for our world to come together as one. The universe is calling on us earthlings to do the right thing to save our planet from an early demise.

He Gonna Lie & She Gonna Cry
A blue-eyed-soul, boy-girl vocal duet about a guy who goes out at night after work and cheats on his wife. This being one of the bands more popular tunes it has both a catchy bass line and melody with a slightly retro vide. The twist at the end is, “she ain’t crying no more.”
One Or The Other
This track is a funky upbeat, positive tune about a guy who has “one in each pocket.” If only he could decide on the older lady who he works for, or the younger gal who owns the shop down the street. This song is one of our most requested when playing shows. Complete with a snappy vocal and horn arrangement. Make sure to play to the end for a sizzling trumpet solo.

A rock/pop song about love around the world. Acts of love with family.
And I Say A Prayer
In the tradition of 60s 12/8 R&B ballads, “And I Say A Prayer.” A song about love lost and hoping that a prayer will make things right. The thunder clouds will clear and the sun will shine for a better day. KING BETA cut this track live at Hallowed Halls recording studios and added additional vocals in post for a lush sound.
Sexy City
This song was originally written for the musical, Bridgetown, about Portland Or and was performed at the 2010 Fertile Ground Playwrights Festival. Sexy City (Subtitled, “it’s all business when we’re going down.”) is about Portland’s strip tease industry. According to one statistic, Portland has more stripers per capita than any other city in the USA. This song is for and about them.
Of Color
Over a dark G-minor-9 chord with 4-on-the-floor, the lyric ask the question, “what color are you?” We all reflect our own hue of Red, Blue, and Yellow. Midway, the song lifts to a major key, and everyone sings, “I dream of a cultural smorgasbord.”
Chit Chat (Words Matter)
A four-on-da-floor, blue-eyed-soul, jazz crossover track with lyrics that talk about the importance of words and their meaning. Much of this video was shot at a location close to my home where people gather a few hours everyday to display their protest signs and banners
